Leave The Phone Alone

August 26, 2016

As a follow up to our partnership with Hot 105.5 in the "Leave The Phone Alone" initiative, Charlottetown Police Services have laid 30 charges for using a cell phone while driving over the past two days. Plain clothes officers were set up in various locations throughout the city watching for violations. In addition to the cell phone charges, members also laid 40 charges for speeding violations.

This targeted enforcement follows the information road checks that were conducted on August 11th 2016, informing motorists of the danger of using a hand held device while driving.

Charlottetown Police Services will continue to conduct road checks and remind motorists to pay attention as the beginning of a new school year is just around the corner. Charlottetown Police Services members will be out in all school zones within the city limits, ensuring motorists and pedestrians are complying with the rules of the road.
