Stolen Vehicle Investigations

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating two separate incidents of stolen vehicles reported over the weekend.

Sometime overnight (Saturday/Sunday) a Grey 2017 Kia Sportage with PEI license plate 733UD was stolen from a residence on Spring Lane. The vehicle has not been recovered yet. The rear window of the SUV has a white sticker on the bottom drivers side that says “Precious Cargo ON BOARD”.

At 3:30 this morning (Aug 27th), Police responded to another stolen vehicle (Black 2017 Chevy Silverado) from the Walthen Drive area. Police did locate that vehicle travelling southbound on North River Road and attempted to pull it over but it did not stop and fled from Police. A short time later the vehicle was located at the corner of Queen Street and Cooper Avenue where it had struck a utility pole. Witnesses reported two individuals ran from the scene. The RCMP dog services attended the scene and assisted with the investigation. CPS Forensic unit is processing the vehicle for evidence.

Both investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.
