On Friday, May 3rd, 2019, the Charlottetown Police Services responded to Sherwood subdivision for the report of found human remains of an infant. The Charlottetown Major Crime Unit and Coroner responded to the address and confirmed there were human remains of an infant, which were located in an outbuilding on the property. Subsequently, Shannon Rayner a 40 year old Charlottetown woman was arrested for infanticide and has been remanded into custody. Shannon Rayner will appear in court at a later date.
