On September 21st shortly after 3:00 pm, Charlottetown Police Service responded to a minor two vehicle collision on Capital Drive. While interacting with one of the drivers, Police determined that he was impaired by drugs and was arrested. An officer trained as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) confirmed the driver was under the influence of drugs and made the demand that a blood sample be provided. Impaired driving charges are pending the blood sample toxicology results.
A 52 year old Charlottetown man was released from custody with a 90 day driving prohibition order and the vehicle was impounded for 60 days.
