At 1:10 am this morning (Aug 13), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of persons spray painting graffiti in the area of King and Queen Streets.
With the assistance from the public, Police located and arrested two individuals. An 18 year old Charlottetown woman and a 15 year old Charlottetown male youth have been charged with mischief under $5000. Both have been released on conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date. The charges may be upgraded to mischief over $5000 as estimates to clean the graffiti may surpass 5000 dollars. A third suspect has been identified and will be dealt with once located.
Several businesses and residences fell victim to the graffiti. Police expect to receive more complaints of graffiti damage to their properties today. The investigation is ongoing and Police ask the public to check their properties and if graffiti is found to call Police and report it.
