Charlottetown Police Services responded to multiple reports of a possible impaired driver yesterday afternoon at 2:10 pm. Officers located the vehicle a short time later on Weymouth Street and pulled it over. The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.
A 26 year old Mount Mellick male provided breath samples that were almost four times the legal limit and was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was also issued a 90 day driving prohibition order and the vehicle has been impounded for 30 days.
The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
