At approximately 11:40 am yesterday (Mar 7), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a break and enter complaint at a residence on Alley Street. Video surveillance was reviewed and a male suspect was identified and the video showed him leaving in a vehicle with a New Brunswick license plate. That vehicle had been reported stolen from the Moncton area earlier in the day.
Patrol Officers with the assistance from the Street Crime Unit located the vehicle on Euston Street at 1:45pm. As the vehicle pulled into a parking lot, Officers boxed the vehicle in arrested the driver without incident.
A 39 year old Ontario male has been charged with possession of stolen property, two counts of break and enter and three counts of breach of probation. The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court this afternoon for a show cause hearing.
