Follow us on TwitterOn Wednesday July 12, 2023 at approximately 11:00am, the Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested a female at her residence on Churchill Avenue following an investigation into street level drug trafficking in Charlottetown.
Police are seeing an increased trend with drug dealers ordering illicit drugs online and having the product shipped to them via courier services. The CPS Street Crime unit recently received actionable information on this type of drug procurement and started an investigation. Officers observed the delivery taking place yesterday and made the arrest at that moment.
Police seized a package containing 200 Dilaudid pills and 7 grams of cocaine.
A 58 year old Charlottetown female was arrested on scene has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused has been released from custody and will appear in Province Court at a later date.
