On August 18, Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested and charged 37-year-old Skylar Peters with multiple offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking. Peters was arrested at the provincial courthouse after attending trial for charges from April 17, 2025 that included:
- Possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
- Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling it – CDSA 5(2)
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes (s. 88 CCC)
- Breach of probation (s. 733 CCC)
As part of the Street Crime Unit’s ongoing drug investigation work, officers had also executed a search warrant at his Charlottetown residence on July 24 and seized $2,730 in cash, two drones, multiple cell phones and other drug related paraphernalia.
On August 18, 37-year-old Skylar Peters was charged with the following offences:
- Possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
- Failure to comply with release order – two counts (s. 145 CCC)
- Failure to comply with probation order (s. 733 CCC)
- Flight from police (s. 320 CCC)
- Mischief damage to property (s. 430 CCC)
Peters was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 26, 2025.
