Charlottetown Police Services have investigated 351 impaired driving cases this year, of which 43 have occurred within the past 30 days. During the same time period in 2024, there were 378 reported cases.

At approximately 6:25 p.m. on August 28, Charlottetown Police Services received a call about a suspected impaired driver. The General Patrol Unit quickly located and stopped the vehicle in a parking lot. During the stop, the reported signs of impairment were confirmed as the breath samples came back at nearly four times the legal limit.
The 24-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving.
He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on October 2, 2025.

At approximately 11:15 a.m. on September 3, Charlottetown Police Services received a call about a suspected impaired driver. An officer from the General Patrol Unit located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The reported signs of impairment were confirmed as the breath samples came back at nearly three times the legal limit.
The 61-year-old female was arrested and charged with impaired driving.
She was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on October 9, 2025.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on September 7, Charlottetown Police Services General Patrol Unit were responding to a disturbance downtown when a nearby vehicle backed into a parked vehicle.
While speaking with the 33-year-old male driver, the attending officer observed signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently charged with impaired driving after providing breath samples that were above the legal limit.
He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on October 23, 2025.
