On July 23, Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested and charged a 24-year-old male from Cornwall with the armed robbery that occurred on May 30 at Jack’s Pizza, 330 University Avenue.
At approximately 10:23 p.m. the masked male entered the business, wielded a large knife at an employee and stole cash from the register. Fortunately, there were no injuries related to the incident.
The Street Crime Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit were called in to assist with the investigation, and over the next several weeks, officers reviewed footage from the premises and nearby businesses, along with e-Watch cameras throughout the community, and completed a series of interviews.
As a result of their investigative work, a 24-year-old male has been charged with armed robbery (s. 344 CCC). He is also being charged with wearing a mask with the intent to commit an indictable offence (s. 351 CCC).
In an unrelated matter, the 24-year-old was also charged for assault with a weapon (s. 267 CCC) (File No. 2025-793523).
He was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on August 21, 2025 and September 25, 2025.
