Arrested and Charged: 56-year-old male charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property obtained by crime

At approximately 4 a.m. on December 7, Charlottetown Police Services, with assistance from the Street Crime Unit, arrested and charged 56-year-old Edward George Willis with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime (less than $5,000).

Officers responded to a call about a male passed out in a parked vehicle. As part of the initial response, CPS dispatchers were also able to alert officers about the license plate on the vehicle being reported stolen.

The vehicle was searched as a result of the arrest and officers seized 41g of crystal methamphetamine, along with thousands of dollars worth of power tools.

The 56-year-old was charged with the following offences:

• Possession (of crystal methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
• Possession of property obtained by crime, less than $5,000 (s. 354 CCC)

Willis was remanded and is scheduled to appear in court on December 11, 2025.
