On September 3, Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested and charged 62-year-old Michael Mullins (MacDonald) with multiple offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking. Officers were aware that Mullins (MacDonald) had returned from Ontario earlier this summer and of his suspected drug-related activities.
The Street Crime Unit initiated a surveillance operation to confirm the illegal activity. Three search warrants were executed, which included a camper trailer and two vehicles. The searches yielded nearly 1kg of cocaine (approximately $118,000 in street value), $3,495 in cash, a replica handgun, bear spray, a cell phone and other drug-related paraphernalia.
The 62-year-old male was charged with the following offences:
- Possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes – two counts (s. 88 CCC)
- Possession of a weapon contrary to an order (s. 117 CCC)
- Mischief to property under $5,000 (s. 430 CCC)
Mullins (MacDonald) was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on September 22, 2025.
