The Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) has completed its investigation into the death of an adult male on October 15, 2025, concluding that officers acted lawfully during their interaction with him and that there is no evidence of criminality.
“It’s important to recognize this was a tragic event for the male and his family, along with the involved officers and support staff. This type of incident is deeply serious and impacts not only the individual’s loved ones, but also our officers and dispatchers, and our community.
We appreciate the work of the investigators and the important role they play. From the outset, our department fully cooperated with the investigation, and we are pleased to see its conclusion. We are satisfied the investigation confirms our view of the incident in that our officers acted appropriately and within their legal duties.
We deal with people in crisis every day and the interactions are overwhelming stabilized, and resolved without issue or incident. With that, I want to also express my appreciation for the officers involved and acknowledge the professionalism and accountability they have demonstrated throughout this process.
As this matter has now concluded, no further information will be released.”
