Impaired Driving Charges Laid over the Long Weekend

Charlottetown Police Services responded to several Impaired driving complaints over the long weekend and have laid two separate charges.

On Saturday morning at 2:45am, Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on University Avenue. The vehicle was located and Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A 20 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.Later that same day at 6:45pm, Police responded to a motor vehicle collision. The driver of one of the vehicles showed signs of impairment by alcohol. An 80 year old Charlottetown male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
