Charlottetown Police Services responded to numerous impaired driving reports over the weekend and laid charges in three (3) separate occurrences.
Saturday at 11:25pm, a caller reported a vehicle that was swerving on the road, the caller had been following it from Covehead. Police located the vehicle on the Brackley Point Road. The driver, a 30 year old Charlottetown male, displayed signs of impairment by alcohol, was arrested and subsequently charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Sunday morning at 02:55am, Police responded to a compliant of a possible impaired driver on Kent Street. Police located the vehicle on Grafton Street. The driver, a 21 year old Charlottetown female, displayed signs of impairment by alcohol, was arrested and subsequently charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Sunday at 5:50pm, Police responded to a complaint of two males believed to be intoxicated left a business on the East Royalty Road. Police were able to locate the vehicle on St Peters Road. The driver, a 42 year old Charlottetown male displayed signs of impairment by drugs and was arrested. Charges of Impaired Driving by Drugs are pending toxicology test results.
Individuals charged will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
