Charlottetown Police Services responded to several complaints of an erratic driver at 12:00 pm on Saturday.  The suspect vehicle was located in the Charlottetown Mall parking lot where Police found a male sitting in the drivers seat.   The driver displayed signs of being impaired by drugs and was arrested.  An officer trained as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) confirmed the driver was under the influence of drugs and made the demand that a blood sample be provided.  Impaired driving charges are pending the blood sample toxicology results.  A 45 year old Moncton male was released from custody with a 90 day driving prohibition order and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

At 11:00 pm on Saturday, while on routine patrol, Police pulled over a vehicle that had been observed driving erratically on St Peters Road. The driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested.  A 21 year old York male was charged with impaired driving.  The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
