Charlottetown Police Services have charged two individuals with impaired driving in two separate occurrences.
At approximately 5:00pm Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver that was travelling from Stratford area into the City. Police located the suspect vehicle parked on Queen Street with the driver still seated behind the wheel. The driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. A 30 year old Charlottetown man was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
At approximately 11:25 pm Police responded to a two vehicle collision on Mount Edward Road. Upon Police arrival, witnesses told Police that one of the drivers involved in the collision had left the scene on foot. Police located the male driver a short distance away and determined that he was impaired by alcohol and was arrested. A 50 year old Charlottetown man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date. There were no reported injuries.
