At 8:25 pm Saturday (April 9th), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver that had struck a set of stairs at a business location on Belvedere Avenue and had left the area.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle a short time later on Mount Edward Road and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and arrested.
A 39 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was also issued a 90 day driving prohibition order and the vehicle has been impounded for 30 days. The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
