Shortly after midnight on Saturday morning (Dec 17), Officers arrested a male that was subject to two arrest warrants for failing to appear in Provincial court on December 15th.
At the time of the arrest, the male was found to be in possession of several types of street drugs and an investigation into drug trafficking ensued.
As a result of the investigation, a 37 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with 3 counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. The accused currently has several other pending matters before the courts and has been remanded in custody.
Pending matters include:
- June 6, 2022 – The accused was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.
- Oct 7, 2022 – The accused was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.
- Nov 12, 2022 – The accused was arrested for driving a vehicle while impaired by drugs. A quantity a drugs were seized at this time and charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking were laid at that time.
