At approximately 10:20 pm last night (Apr 4), Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit with the assistance of Patrol Officers and the Rapid Tactical Deployment Containment Team arrested a male on Fitzroy Street outside of his residence and subsequently executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant.
The search resulted in the seizure of:
- 72 grams of cocaine
- switch blade knife, baton and bear spray
- other drug paraphernalia
At the time of the offence, the accused was subject to the electronic supervision program through Probation Services following a conditional sentence order.
A 36 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court tomorrow.
