At approximately 11:30 am yesterday (May 15), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Fitzroy Street that was occupied by a driver that appeared to be sleeping. Officers attended and woke the driver up at which point it became obvious he was impairment by alcohol and was arrested.
A 44 year old Cornwall male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after providing breath samples that were almost twice the legal limit.
The accused was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
