On Thursday July 13, 2023 at approximately 1:00 pm, the Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested a male following an investigation into the illicit drug trade of selling methamphetamine and fentanyl in Charlottetown.
Officers seized a quantity of individually packaged dime bags of purple fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine along with other drug paraphernalia, a conducted energy weapon (taser) and 2985.00 cash.
A 32 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with eight offences:
- two counts of CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking (crystal meth & fentanyl)
- three counts of CCC 117.01(3) – Failing to comply with a weapons prohibition order
- CCC 88(2) – Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
- CCC 90(2) – Carrying a concealed weapon
- CCC 91(3) – Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
The accused has been released from custody with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
