Charlottetown Police Services Major Crime Unit is investigating an armed robbery complaint that occurred early this morning.
At approximately 1:45 am this morning (July 18, 2023), a male and female were walking eastbound on the south side of Grafton Street, between civic numbers 40 and 56 when they were approached from behind by 3 males. One male grabbed the male victim from behind and an altercation ensued. The victim suffered a minor cut to a finger from a knife that the suspect had. The victim dropped his phone during this altercation and it was stolen by one of the three suspects. The altercation was short, and the 3 males walked away heading south on Pownal Street.
The investigation is ongoing and Police are asking any witnesses to come forward. The public is also asked to check any video surveillance in that area and call Police if anything relating to this incident is observed.
