Charlottetown Police Services, Charlottetown Fire and Island EMS responded to a collision that occurred on Mount Edward Road at 7:45 am this morning.
A 57 year old woman was struck by a utility trailer while walking and tragically succumb to her injuries. The trailer was being hauled by a pick up truck traveling north bound and the trailer detached from the vehicle when it struck the victim whom was also traveling northbound on foot. The driver of the pick up is uninjured.
Charlottetown Police Collision Reconstructionist and other support Officers remain on scene continuing it’s investigation. During this time Mount Edward Road will remain closed from Belvedere Avenue to Fairview Drive.
Police requests that anyone with dashcam footage or witnessed the collision to contact Police at 902-629-4172.
