File: 20231378483 – At approximately 3:20am Saturday morning (Sept 16), Officers responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Allen Street. The vehicle was located and Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed the male under arrest. He was brought back to the Police Station and refused to provide breath samples.
A 30 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
File: 20231385827 – At approximately 5:15 pm yesterday afternoon (Sept 17), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Orlebar Street. Responding Officers located the vehicle stationary on Summer Street. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed under arrest. He was brought to the Police station and refused to provide breath samples.
A 66 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public to plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers. The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
