Street Crime Unit Execute Search Warrant – Charges Laid

Last night (Oct 17) at 9:15 pm, Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit with the assistance of Patrol Officers executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence on University Avenue.

The search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of fentanyl, a replica firearm, other drug paraphernalia and 1300.00 cash.

A male and female were arrested without incident.   The female was later released without charges.

A 52 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs (Fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
