The result of a six week drug investigation has lead to drug and other charges being laid.

On November 25, 2023, members of the Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit with the assistance of Patrol Officers attempted a targeted vehicle stop on Green Street.   The vehicle did not stop and fled from Police.  While fleeing from Police a quantity of drugs was thrown out of the vehicle window and recovered by Police.   Officers discontinued the pursuit due to public safety concerns.

On December 11, Street Crime members located the suspect walking on University Avenue.   After a short foot chase, the male was arrested and taken into custody.

Police seized 82 grams of cocaine, 43 grams of crystal meth, two cell phones and fiver thousand dollars cash.

A 48 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with:

  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking
  • CDSA 5(1) – Trafficking cocaine
  • CDSA 5(1) – Trafficking methamphetamine
  • CCC 129(a) – Resist arrest
  • CCC 320.17 – Flight from Police
  • CCC 320.13(1) – Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

The accused has been released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
