At approximately 7:30 pm on Friday June 14, 2024, the Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested a male following an investigation into the illicit drug trade of selling Fentanyl in the Charlottetown area.
Officers seized 339 grams of suspected Fentanyl, approximately 1000 suspected Xanax tablets, two cell phones and a vehicle. This is a large quantity of Fentanyl taken off Charlottetown streets with an approximate street value of $170,000 dollars.
29 year old Tye POIRIER from Stratford has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and CDSA 5(2) – Possession of Xanax for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Province Court at a later date.
