Charlottetown Police Services charged two drivers with impaired driving over the weekend.

At approximately 2:15 am Saturday morning (Aug 10), while on routine patrol, an Officer observed a vehicle driving in an erratic manner on Kent Street and pulled it over on Edward Street.  The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 26 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired driving after providing breath samples that were twice the legal limit.

Shortly after midnight  Sunday morning (Aug 11), while on routine patrol, Officers observed a vehicle hit a curb on University Avenue and conducted a traffic stop on Eden Street.  The driver whom was too young to possess a drivers license displayed signs of being impaired and was arrested.

A 15 year old Charlottetown male was charged with impaired driving after providing breath samples that were almost twice the legal limit.

Both accused  males were released from custody will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public  to  plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.

The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers.   The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
