On August 26th, Charlottetown Police Services received a complaint from an individual who said that he was driving by a parked vehicle on Harley Street, the male driver of that vehicle smiled at him and appeared to have displayed a suspected firearm.
Through the course of the investigation, Police were able to identify the vehicle and the male driver. At approximately 12:30 pm yesterday afternoon (Aug 27), a plain clothes member of the Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit observed the male’s vehicle in a business parking lot on University Avenue. Patrol Officers attended the business and located the male suspect inside and arrested him without incident. An silver replica hand gun (bb gun) was located inside the vehicle.
A 55 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. He was release on conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
