At 9:45pm Friday (Nov 8) night, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a 911 call reporting that a woman had fallen off the dock at the end of Queen Street. Charlottetown Fire Department and IEMS were also dispatched to the scene.
Multiple Police units responded and upon arrival were informed that a woman had accidentally fallen off the dock while with some friends near the 2024 sign at the end of Queen Street. The woman was located in the water on the Peaks side of the Delta Hotel, conscious and holding on to a pillar. She was in distress yelling that she could not hang on much longer. One of the responding Officers proceeded to jump into the water rendering aid to the woman. The Officer was able to position a life ring around here and proceeded to swim her back to the lower level docks were other Officers and Fire Fighters helped pull her and the Officer out of the water.
The woman was treated by IEMS – although quite shaken and cold from the incident, she did not sustained any injuries.
