On Wednesday night (Nov 20) at approximately 8:20pm, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a male trespassing on a property on Grafton Street.

Police located the male walking away from the area.  Once Police caught up to him, he was recognized as a Break and Enter suspect that had been captured on video surveillance earlier in the week. The male was arrested and initially provided Police with a false name but Officers were able to determine his true identity and discovered that he was wanted in PEI for failing to appear in court earlier this month.

Break and Enter Investigations: On Monday morning (Nov 18th), Police responded to two properties that had been broken into overnight.  One was at a business on Fitzroy that resulted with a cash register being stolen and the other was at an underground parking garage on Great George where entry was gained and the male proceed to steal from multiple parked vehicles.  In both cases, the suspect was captured on video surveillance.

As a result of the investigation, a 47 year old Montague male has been charged with:

  • Obstruct Police
  • Break and Enter x2
  • Fail to comply with a Release Order x3

The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
