At 6:40 am yesterday morning (Nov 27), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a 911 call reporting that a male had broken into Charlottetown Rural High School and had fled towards Burns Avenue.
Officers were able to identify the suspect via surveillance video and a search of the area resulted in locating the male suspect who had broken into an apartment building on Burns Avenue and was hiding inside a utility room. The male was arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation, 33 year old Christopher RUSH has been charged with two counts of break and enter, one count of possession of break-in tools and one count of breach of probation. These new charges come one day after he was charged with stealing from vehicles on Tuesday morning. The accused is a prolific property crime offender with 48 criminal code convictions on his record. He was recently released from Prince County Jail on November 24th after serving a sentence for possessing stolen property.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court later today.
