Road Safety Checkpoints during the Holiday Season

Charlottetown Police Services will be increasing the frequency of Road Safety Check Points during the Holiday Season.

Last Friday night, check points were conducted on Malpeque Road (North end), St Peters Road (West end) and Water Street.  Approximately 500 vehicles went through these check points. Two vehicles were towed due to no registration and insurance and 3 Summary Offence tickets under the Highway Traffic Act were issued for driving without insurance and/or vehicle registration.

Police are reminding the public to plan ahead, designate a sober driver and never drive while impaired.
