Charlottetown Police Services have charged three impaired drivers over the weekend.
On Friday June 28 at 00:45 am, Police responded to a single vehicle collision on University Avenue where a vehicle collided with a traffic signal pole. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested at the scene. An 18 year Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver was not injured in the collision.
On Saturday June 29 at 02:30 am, while on Patrol on Kent Street, Police observed a vehicle that was driving erratically and pulled the vehicle over. The driver of the vehicle was displaying signs of impairment and was arrested. A 22 year old Charlottetown male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
On Sunday June 30 at 02:38 am, while on Patrol on Kent Street, Police observed a vehicle that was driving the wrong direction on the one way street. Police performed a traffic stop and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A 27 year old New Haven male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
All drivers will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
