Charlottetown Police Services responded to ten (10) complaints of possible impaired drivers over the weekend, two (2) of which resulted in charges being laid.
While on routine patrol at 11:55 pm on Friday night (July 10), Police observed a vehicle driving erratically northbound on Brackley Point Road. A traffic stop ensued and Police determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and subsequently arrested.
A 29 year old Cornwall male has been charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
At 7:50 pm on Sunday night (July 12), Police responded to a complaint of a person possibly impaired leaving an establishment on Grafton Street. Police located the vehicle a short distance away and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver provided breath samples that were three times the legal limit.
A 36 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
