Driving Under the Influence of Drugs – Charges Pending

At 8:20 pm last evening (Dec 1), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot on Capital Drive.  Officers attended and located the vehicle. While interacting with the driver, Police determined that the driver displayed signs of being impaired by drugs and was arrested.  An officer trained as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) confirmed the driver was under the influence of drugs and made the demand that a blood sample be provided.

A 27 year old Summerside male was released from custody with a 90 day driving prohibition order. Impaired driving charges are pending the blood sample toxicology results.
