Assault with a Weapon – Youth Charged

During the fireworks last night in Victoria Park, the Charlottetown Police Services Command Post was approached by a person advising Police that a fight had occurred and that a few people had been struck by a male using brass knuckles as a weapon.

Several Officers responded and located two injured males.  Both males were injured with lacerations on their heads.  Both were initially treated by First Aid staff, one of them required stitches and would have attended the QEH.

Officers located the male suspect a short distance away and was arrested without incident.  Brass knuckles were seized during the arrest.

A 17 year old male youth was subsequently charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation.  He was later release with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
