Charlottetown Police Services seized four firearms, three replica firearms and ammunition following an disturbance investigation last week.
Police were called to a residence on Fitzroy Street last Wednesday night in response to a disturbance complaint. While Police were conducting the investigation, a firearm was observed leaning against a wall. Officers seized the firearm and located several others with ammunition. Officers also learned that an assault had taken place prior to Police arrival resulting in the arrest of a male resident.
As a result of the investigation, a 53 year old Charlottetown male was arrested and charged with assault and unsafe storage of a firearm.
The accused was released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
