Charlottetown Police Services responded to a theft complaint this morning at approximately 1:15 am. The complainant reported that his laptop had been stolen from his work desk at a business located on Richmond Street. The theft was captured on video surveillance and Police were able to obtained a physical description of the suspect.
At 2:45 am, while on Patrol on Weymouth Street, Police observed a male matching the description from the video. The male was positively identified and arrested.
A 28 year old Summerside man has been charged with theft under $5000 and breach of Probation. He was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
