While on routine patrol at 9:00 pm last night, Charlottetown Police Services conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle that displayed an expired vehicle registration sticker. While speaking with the driver, the Officer determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and arrested him.
A 56 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
A 38 year old Charlottetown woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for breach of the peace and later released.
