At 4:30 pm on Wednesday (Sep 8), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of an assault that occurred in a parking lot of a business on Grafton Street.
An employee whom was leaving work encountered two males arguing in the parking lot, as the employee walked past the pair, one of the males raised a piece of wood at the employee and raised it in an attempt to strike the employee. The employee was able to move away and call security.
The suspect turned his aggression towards the security officer and stuck him in the head with the piece of wood and walked away. The security officer followed the suspect at which point the suspect turned and attempted to assault the officer again but was restrained until Police arrived.
A 37 year old Charlottetown male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. He was remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
