At 10:30pm last night (Mar 11), while on routine patrol, Police pulled over a vehicle on Riverside Drive for a traffic act violation. While interacting with the driver, the Officer determined that the driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and arrested the male.
A 27 year old St Catherines PEI male was subsequently charged with impaired driving after providing breath samples that were above the legal limit.
The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public to plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers. The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
