Two separate charges for refusing to provide breath samples were laid Saturday morning.
While on routine patrol at approximately 1:50 am, Police noticed a vehicle parked on Sydney Street with a female slumped over the steering wheel. Officers woke the female and determined that she was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. A 30 year old Central Bedeque female was charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.
A few hours later at 4:50 am, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a single vehicle collision on Riverside Drive. The vehicle struck a traffic sign in the center of the round about. The driver of the vehicle was not injured but displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. A 52 year old Charlottetown man was charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.
Both individuals will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
