Domestic Violence – Charges Laid

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of domestic violence at 8:00 pm last night (Dec 14).  The assault occurred at a Charlottetown residence . During the incident a family dog was also assaulted by the accused.  The female victim nor the dog required any medical treatment.

A 50 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with one count of assault and one count of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.  The accused will be released from custody today with conditions to have no contact with the victim and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
