Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver at the West Royalty Liquor Store. The responding Officer located the vehicle in a parking lot on University Avenue and determined that the driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol.
The 50 year old male driver, who provided breath samples over three times the legal limit was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was taken to the Provincial Correctional Centre and held until sober.
The accused was later released and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
