Charlottetown Police Services responded to 11 possible impaired driving complaints over the weekend, 3 of which have resulted with charges being laid.
At 9:45 pm on Friday (Nov 20), Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Grafton Street. Police located the vehicle and determined that the drivers showed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested, the driver provided breath samples almost 4 times the legal limit . A 40 year old Stratford woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
A few hours later at 00:15 am Saturday morning (Nov 21), Officers responded to a vehicle / pedestrian collision that occurred on Euston Street. The injuries to the pedestrian were minor and did not require a Hospital visit. Officers determined that the driver of the vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was arrested. A 34 year old Charlottetown male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
At 9:30 am on Sunday (Nov 22), Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Nassau Street. Police located the vehicle in a parking lot on Belvedere Avenue with the driver still in it. Police determined that the drivers showed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. A 43 year old Charlottetown male was charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
