Last night (Jan 4) at approximately 11:50pm, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a break and enter complaint at a business on Kent Street.
The complainant told Police that she had closed the business a short time earlier and had quickly returned to the business as she had forgotten her phone and discovered the break and enter and called Police. A cell phone, several iPads, cash from the till and liquor bottles were stolen. Several other Police units responded and began searching the area. A short time later, Police found a male exiting a dumpster and was found in possession of the stolen items.
A 34 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with break and enter and breach of probation.
The accused appeared in court this afternoon and has been remanded in custody for a show cause hearing scheduled for Monday.
