File 2024445232: At 11:45 pm Friday night (Apr 5), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a possible impaired driver on Capital Drive. Police located the vehicle on Marianne Drive in Cornwall. While interacting with the driver, the Officer determined that the driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested. He was brought back to the Police Station and refused to provide breath samples.
A 23 year old Kingston PEI male has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
File 2024445829: At 2:15 am Saturday morning (Apr 6), while on routine patrol, Police observed a vehicle driving erratically and pulled it over on Chestnut Street. The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.
A 22 year old Charlottetown female was subsequently charged with impaired driving after providing breath samples that were above the legal limit.
The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public to plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers. The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
